AECC will bring Kickboxers from around the world to Aberdeen Open

World Karate and Kickboxing Commission (WKC) is set to return to AECC on Sunday 5 May 2019 bringing 1,000 competitors from across the world to the North East to compete with the very best at the Aberdeen Open Tournament.

Louise Stewart, Head of Entertainment at AECC/TECA commented: “We are delighted to welcome back WKC to the North East of Scotland, and the vast amount of competitors from all over the world who have already signed up is outstanding. Attracting a major sporting event to the North East, is something we look forward to continuing to bring to our new venue The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) which opens next summer and brings the very best of live experiences.”

TECA is Scotland’s brand new, state-of-the-art events venue. The event complex is being delivered by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Henry Boot Developments, replaces AECC with 48,000 square metres of world-class multi-purpose event space.
